Porcelain paving installed across Wiltshire by Select Paving and Roofing Wiltshire

    Porcelain Paving Across Wiltshire

Porcelain paving creates a clean, refined outdoor surface that works well in both modern and traditional gardens. We install porcelain patios, paths and steps throughout Wiltshire, with careful preparation, accurate cuts and consistent joints giving each project a properly finished appearance.

    PORCELAIN PATIOS

    Porcelain Patios Across Wiltshire

A porcelain patio can turn an unused or uneven part of the garden into a practical space for dining, entertaining and relaxing. The tiles are manufactured to provide a consistent size and thickness, making them well suited to layouts with crisp lines and balanced joints.

    We install porcelain paving for:

    • Outdoor dining and seating areas
    • Courtyard and terrace-style patios
    • Raised and multi-level garden spaces
    • Areas surrounding garden rooms
    • Paths, walkways and entrances
    • Steps and connecting paved areas

Every patio is planned around the property and how the garden is used. We consider doorways, furniture, sunlight, existing landscaping and access before agreeing on the layout.

Correct finished levels are particularly important where new paving meets the house. We also create suitable falls so that rainwater moves away effectively without the patio appearing noticeably sloped.

    CONTEMPORARY PORCELAIN

    Contemporary Porcelain Paving

Outdoor porcelain tiles are available in various sizes, tones and surface finishes. Larger tiles can make a compact garden feel less cluttered, while mixed formats and contrasting edging can add more detail to a bigger space.

    Contemporary options include:

    • Large-format porcelain slabs
    • Light cream and beige finishes
    • Grey and charcoal paving
    • Smooth, consistent colour tones
    • Contrasting borders and features
    • Coordinated indoor-outdoor designs

Many homeowners around Trowbridge, Melksham and Chippenham choose porcelain because they want a modern surface that’s easier to care for than some natural materials. Its low porosity means it absorbs very little water and is less prone to staining.

Outdoor tiles should still be selected carefully. We use paving intended for external areas, with an appropriate textured finish for grip rather than indoor tiles designed for dry rooms.

    EFFECT PORCELAIN

    Wood-Effect and Natural-Stone-Effect Porcelain

Porcelain can reproduce the appearance of timber, sandstone, limestone and slate while providing more consistent colouring and dimensions. This is useful when you want a particular look without the natural variation found in quarried stone.

    Available styles can include:

    • Timber-effect porcelain planks
    • Sandstone-inspired tiles
    • Limestone-effect paving
    • Slate and dark stone finishes
    • Travertine-style porcelain
    • Mixed-tone natural stone effects

Wood-effect paving can bring warmth to a contemporary garden without the maintenance associated with exterior timber decking. Stone-effect finishes provide a more traditional appearance while retaining the practical qualities of porcelain.

Samples should always be viewed outdoors where possible. Colours can appear different in daylight from how they look under indoor lighting, and the finished choice needs to work with the brickwork, fencing and surrounding garden.

    PATIOS, PATHS & STEPS

Porcelain Paving for Patios, Paths and Steps

Using the same porcelain across several connected areas can give the whole garden a cohesive appearance. A patio can continue into paths, steps or a paved area around a garden room without introducing too many different materials.

    Our porcelain paving contractors install:

    • Main garden patios
    • Side-access paths
    • Front-door entrances
    • Paved garden steps
    • Raised seating areas
    • Decorative paved borders

Porcelain requires a suitable foundation and installation method. Each tile needs full and consistent support, together with the correct bonding preparation. Poorly supported tiles can move or become loose, which is why we don’t rush the groundwork or laying stage.

    OUR PROCESS

    Our Porcelain Patio Installation Process

We begin with a site visit to assess the area, existing ground conditions, access, drainage and finished levels. We then discuss the porcelain tile options, layout and any edging or feature details before providing a clear written quotation.

Once the work is approved, the existing surface is removed where necessary and the ground is excavated and prepared with a suitable compacted sub-base. We make sure the foundation and drainage details are properly prepared before the porcelain is laid.

Each tile is carefully prepared and laid with full, consistent support, with accurate cuts around edges, drains, steps and other features. We then complete the joints, inspect the finished paving and leave the area clean, level and ready to use.
